I have heard that a common thing people who are close to a newly-out trans person wonder about is “what kinds of things is this person going to do to transition?” This sometimes might be rather benign — for example, wondering about new names, pronouns, aesthetics, etc — or potentially invasive — “what surgeries are they going to get?
